Terms and Notices

This page provides specific terms and notices in respect of the formal aspects of our store. Please note that we also have a Frequently Asked Questions page which addresses most common questions. In any event, if you still need help, please get in touch using the details at the foot of this page.

  • Who we are

    We represent a partnership of organisations. The store is managed by Pamir Ministries - a division of the charity Operation Mobilisation, in partnership with the Bible Society of Afghanistan. Some of the materials on the store are produced by ourselves, and some by our partners. Whilst Operation Mobilisation is present in a number of countries and we may ship goods from these locations, for legal and administrative purposes this store is run from Canada where our charity "Operation Mobilization Canada" is a registered not-for-profit business.

  • Where we are

    We administer the store from Canada, and ship Worldwide. We mostly send goods from Canada or Germany. Our international correspondence address is "PO Box 322, Port Colborne, ON, L3K 5W1", to which any goods or monies should be sent.

  • Street address for legal/compliance reasons

    For those purposes only, you may use "84 West Street, Port Colborne ON L3K 4C8, Canada" which is the registered address of our registered charity "Operation Mobilization Canada". Our staff are not located there, we do not keep stock there, and it is not our correspondence address, so please do not remit monies or goods to this address.

  • Refund policy

    If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 3 months of purchase date. We will ask you to return the products in the condition that you received them using the original packaging or an acceptable equivalent. We will provide you with a full refund, or exchange for an alternative product of equal value if you prefer.

    If the problem is our mistake, or a fault with the order or the product, we pay the return postage - or we may not need the item back at all. Otherwise (if you ordered the wrong thing, say, or simply do not like it), the return postage is yours to pay.

    If you live in the European Union, the law also gives you the right to cancel an online purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. Our own policy above is more generous: it gives you 3 months rather than 14 days, wherever you live, and it does not take away any right the law gives you.

  • Privacy policy

    We value the privacy and security of the information that you share with us. Information that you share with us is used to fulfil your order. If you choose an option to receive our news then we may also use the information to correspond with you. We may process your data for analytical purposes that are internal to our organisation. We do not store your information for other purposes, and we will not sell or pass any of your information to any third party, with the exception of means necessary to permit the payment or postage of your order (e.g provide your address to a postal service, or a payment gateway), and the services named below. We endeavour to protect your information from accidental or unauthorised release. In relation to processing your order, we may use your information in order to provide customer service that could include subsequent followup to check our standards and make or receive suggestions and feedback. We reserve the right to use your information where required for appropriate legal, financial or compliance requirements.

    In practice this means:

    • Payment. Payment is taken by PayPal or Stripe. You enter your card details on their pages and they never reach us. They receive from us your name, email address, the items ordered and the amount.
    • Delivery. Your name, address and phone number, and what is being sent, are given to the courier or postal service that carries your order.
    • Address lookup. As you type your address at the checkout, what you type on the first line is sent to an address-lookup service (Photon, which uses OpenStreetMap data) so that it can suggest matching addresses. Nothing else about you is sent with it.
    • Your internet (IP) address. We use it to guess your country and currency when you arrive, and we keep it with our counts of page visits and downloads for our own statistics.
    • Cookies and similar storage. The store needs a few cookies to work: to remember your basket, country, currency and language. Your browser also keeps a few choices for us (light or dark mode, a notice you have closed, and your answer about visitor statistics); these stay on your device.
    • Visitor statistics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and sends Google details of your visit, such as the pages viewed, your approximate location and the kind of device and browser. In Europe (and Turkey) it is used only if you agree, and you can change your answer at any time with the “Cookie choice” link at the foot of each page; elsewhere it is used unless your browser blocks it. We do not use it for advertising. Apart from this and the services named above, our pages load nothing from other companies' servers.
    • Why we may use your information. To carry out your order, and to meet our accounting and legal duties; with your agreement, to send you news and to count visits with Google Analytics; and, in our legitimate interest in running and improving the store, for the visit counts we keep ourselves.
    • Where it is held. The store is run from Canada, so your information is held and used there, and by the services named above, which may be in other countries.
    • Emails. When your order has been paid for we send a confirmation by email, with a private link for following your order. We send news only if you ask for it: your name and email address are then added to the mailing list of the ministry whose news you asked for (Pamir Ministries or the Bible Society of Afghanistan), may be held by the email service we use to send it, and every issue has a link to unsubscribe.
    • Keeping records. We keep records of orders for as long as accounting and charity rules require.
    • Your rights. You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, using the contact details at the foot of this page. You can withdraw an agreement you have given at any time. If you are in Europe you may also complain to your country's data protection authority.

  • Copyright policy

    All sold materials are copyright. This protects from changes and inappropriate usage. Usually copyright rests with us or with one of our partners. We do understand the desire to disburse materials easily, and you may contact us for further information or in respect of any particular request that you may have.

  • Re-sale policy

    Although we offer discounts for larger shipments, this is done on the understanding that it is not used to sell materials at prices lower than we sell here on the store.

  • Credits

    Country flag graphics on our checkout pages are from Twemoji, copyright Twitter, Inc. and other contributors, used under the CC-BY 4.0 licence, by way of the country-flag-emoji-polyfill font (MIT licence). The Manrope and Vazirmatn fonts are used under the SIL Open Font Licence.
